I used a Platinum Riviere in class today. The Riviere cost US$1.50 at Daiso, but I rather like it. Today was a mini-distaster, though. I have it inked with Diamine Oxblood. It leaked into its cap and had a generally wet nib and feed, so there were a few convincingly blood-like spots on the desk. With all that, it dried up a couple times while I had it uncapped for several minutes with no writing. That's life with a cheap pen! To be fair, it was a wet writer in the first place, and Oxblood seems to be a vigorous ink.

Just got through a panicked session with my Lamy 2KBB, Noodler's Konrad and Al-Star 1.5.
Tune in tomorrow for the results!

Geez KI that pen can lay down a lot of ink when flexing ! That first photo looks like raise off-set printing. I suppose sometimes with Rhodia the ink tends to pool and sit about for a bit. Some very attractive flexing with the Conway Stewart226.

At the other end of the pen spectrum I'm back to the Jinhao15 metallic blue with F nib and Noodler's Mandalay Maroon.
It is amazing how comfortable this pen feels. 138mm capped.

If it is a fake Serenite then I prefer the the Jinhao. Atleast it is straight.
The Waterman Serenite Blue with Silver Trim Trim Rollerball costs $1170.00 where as the Jinhao was less than $10 (& you can stand it vertically too)

I can't get over the cost of it and it is such a good writer too.
Yesterday evening spent 20 minutes queuing at the PostOffice to collect the latest bundle of pens from eBay the red and black Jinhao15s & a Baoer801 green. Unfortunately the red and the black one are just a glossy enamel paint not the metallic with varnish layer like the blue. They are still nice but don't have the wonderful lustre of the blue.

Inked up the black Jinhao15 with Lamy Black for use today at work in your honour, Daakusaido.

I just looked at those fake Serenites on ebay. They look kinda cool actually, with the hooded nib and all. I try to stay away from buying cheap pens, because I want to have as much $ as I can for larger purchases, but that funky thing is getting to me!

    I am honored.

In a new development. I just inked up a black , bold nibbed, Lamy Accent with Lamy Blue. It is nothing like a Parker Vector as I previously thought.

At this point I cannot confirm or deny any action that may or may not have taken place.
