You mean you wrangled them out of the nib unit. Probably would be simpler to screw out the unit, although I don't know exactly how everything seized up from the dried ink.

Not exactly a super-steal, but low enough for an Aurora Optima in that pristine condition.

The nib unit screws in and out of the section just fine (and very well made), but yes I had to take the nib and feed out because the tip of the tines were flush with the feed -- what could someone do to cause that -- I have no idea. I'm just glad that I was able to take the nib and feed out of the nib unit after some soaking in the water. Not easily, but thankfully without accidents.

Now the pen writes, and I love these older 14K Aurora nibs. The newer ones feels like real nails.

Waterman's 12 PSF, Namiki Blue ink. Pilot MYU, Iroshizuku Yama-Budo. Despite the modern look of the MYU, and the positively antique vibe of the Waterman, neither one is still made.

Thanks! The downside of the Orient Express is that it really doesn’t like non-Stipula inks. With almost anything it has hard starts and occasional dry spells. With Stipula Sepia, it is lovely.

My writing sample says that this pen is a Swan SF2. Mistake: it is an earlier 2-SF, with Mabie Todd New York nib.2SF Broad Italic.jpg

I think you would do better if you just asked for help and left that other stuff out. You'll catch more flies with honey than with vinegar.

I'm sorry to say I have nothing very flexible in stock at the moment.

This Jinhao 8802 is surprisingly enjoyable to write with after thoroughly cleaning and slightly tweaking the nib.

The paper is an Apica CD11 notebook. I don't think I have ever written with brown ink before (Yama Guri sample).

    Kind of liking it.

In addition to trying some pen drawing techniques, I took notes for work with the Metro which thankfully ran out of ink... So I am now able to try out my Tsuki-yo sample. Me likey.
