Inked up my Waterman Carene the other day with Eclat de Saphir and found it to be a bit 'leaky'. It's always been like this. Not real leakage, mostly just a nib creep issue, but when that happens to the tail end of an inlaid nib, the ink travels to the gripping section and the inner cap too, peppering the lower half of the section with ink droplets. Now I understood why a nibmeister advised me against buying one of these. *Sigh*, I didn't listen -- couldn't resist a good deal. My wife loves its shape, so I won't sell it yet. I suppose it just needs to go with a much drier ink.
As I don't care for blue fingers at work, the pen was cleaned out after being inked for one day.
In my rotation today are:
1. Pilot Custom Heritage 92 Clear, FM nib, filled with a deep cyan colour mixed ink. This pen has stayed in my 3-pen daily carry continuously for 3 weeks, which is a rare thing for me.
2. Duller pocket size FP, F nib, Violet from Justwrite.com.au. I find this ink too light - almost pastel. I'll mix some darker purple ink to jazz it up a bit.
3. Parker Sonnet, Broad Pendleton Butterline Stub, Parker Black cartridge. Very juicy nib. I love it!
