We watched The Talented Mr Ripley again last night and Dickie Greenleaf (Jude Law) had a Montblanc 149 pen that appeared in the film a couple of times. As I don't have the film on my computer it was difficult to find a clip but here is one showing Ripley (Matt Damon) signing Dickie's name with his 149 after he has killed him.

Here’s a still from the first film version, Plein Soleil. Alain Delon appears to be using a 146:

From an animated move, Incredibles 2, comes a screenshot that looks almost realistic. The final signature is put on a treaty to "legalize superheroes" again. But the story is far from over.

During the first few minutes of the 2015 romantic melodrama "Carol", Cate Blanchett uses an Esterbrook pen provided by Rooney Mara to write down her address. The scene is set on December 1952 at a large department store.

    Esterbrook.jpg

Just as the scene is ending you can hear this announcement over the store's loudspeakers:

There is a gift for everyone in the accessories department on street level
where you will find the entire Parker pen line on sale
including Parker's new smooth writing Parker 51
    with only one moving part
making writing as easy as conversation

Someone in the production team was paying attention!

I’ll have to check that one out. I’ve been hesitant because i liked the book (which has a different title, The Price of Salt.

I haven't read the book but I found the film to be wonderful.

Recently we watched the 2005 version of King Kong. While "Jack Driscoll," (Adrian Brody) was typing in his animal cage, "Jimmy" tried to steal his pen but was found out and dropped it on the floor of the cage. I thought I saw it as a blue Waterman Phileas and sure enough it was. I took a quick photo of the screen with my iPhone:

Black Lacquer Parker Sonnet is seen in the beginning of one scene in the movie "Glass". I watched it last night.

Could it be a fountain pen being used to write a check about an hour and ten minutes into Holiday in the Wild on Netflix?

I see the occasional fountain pen in movies. By the time I get my phone out to take a pic, the scene is over.

I've been watching The Durrells in Corfu, and I'm pretty sure that in the last few episodes Lawrence is using a modern day Kaweco cartridge pen to write his letters--a black one.

The latest season of The Crown has too many fountain pens. Was Parker's Royal Warrant in effect during the '60s to mid '70s?

I think the Warrant started in 1962, and continues despite Parker threatening to stop the special production of her favorite ink.

I think that there is a scene showing the Queen using a 1937 Royal Challenger in the Crown.

I’ve noticed that the character of Lawrence on The Durrells in Corfu is left handed. In The Crown, the actor playing. Charles is right handed. I’m sorry I can include a photo as I’m new to fpgeeks, and haven’t yet figured out how to attach one to my post.

Here are a couple screengrabs from Plein Soleil (Purple Noon, 1960). In the opening scene Alain Delon is writing postcards with a Montblanc. I would guess it's a 146. Later in the film, he uses the same pen to practice forging a signature.

Towards the end of "Transporter 3" the character that plays an Ukranian minister uses a Pilot Vanishing Point to sign a contract.

    Sorry... no pic.

Most definitely looks like a Black Kaweco Sport being used in the Durrells - Season 03, Episode 06 - Gerry's birthday episode. There are two scenes with what looks like a Kaweco Sport. The first one is Keeley Hawes clearly untwists what looks like a short faceted Kaweco when she starts writing anecdotes about her son. The second is when Lawrence is writing that Gerry's first word was tortoise. He is left handed and you can clearly see the brass finial on this short faceted dark burgundy or black pen. In Season 4, Episode 5 - you clearly see the Kaweco Sport on Lawrence's desk in Paris Screen Shot 2020-03-19 at 5.41.22 AM.pngScreen Shot 2020-03-19 at 5.43.43 AM.pngDurrells S04E05 Kaweco Sport.jpg
