I see bad pen grips so often now often in films and series but I must forgive Bella Ramsey as she's such a good actor and Catherine Called Birdy is a really good film.
Plenty of unconventional grips in this thread. Here's one in The Souvenir that stood out recently.

And this (not a fountain pen, I know) in Altered Carbon 2 looks especially tortured.

I wonder if there is a connection between the demise of handwriting and the failure to teach more ergonomic grips at an early age.

Another AI uses a quill or more likely, given the absence of an inkwell, a feather-ended ballpoint.

"Spiderhead" (2022) is an odd movie in which convicts are offered the chance to become medical test subjects in exchange for reduced sentences. Chris Hemsworth as the warden/investigator does not use a fountain pen but rather an upscale ballpoint:

From a recent Virgin Voyages TV ad:

I guess when you go on a cruise ship you should leave your Montblancs and Pelikans at home...
In this interview with Christiane Amanpore Former US Joint Chiefs Chairman Mike Mullen gesticulates with a pen of some sort while he speaks. I can't tell what it is.

There is something very 1960/70s about that pen. Is he signing with the nib upside down or is that an illusion caused by shadows?
The story moves between the 20s and late 30s, I believe it's before 2nd World War. This scene happens during late 30s, I believe. The pen was held the reverse side as dar as I know
