The movie First Man recreates the Apollo 11 pre-launch breakfast, 51 years ago today.

Artist Paul Calle (played in the movie by his son, Chris) uses two different posted fountain pens to sketch the astronauts during the meal and later while suiting up. (Interesting article about Paul and Chris Calle here.)

bj 2.jpgThere was a writing scene from Whatever Happened to Baby Jane. Not sure if Joan Crawford used a fountain pen but the movie is such a classic that I had to add this photo

Several fountain pen sightings in season 3 of Dark (sorry again, Carlos).

    In 1987, a school pen.
    Dark3 1.jpg

In 1954, a distinctive pen with a pull cap and a metal section.

Honestly, at this point I'd lost track of the year and the place. But look! A Sheaffer!

Someone is writing with what looks like a fountain pen at about 42 seconds into the trailer for Gordon Lightfoot: If You Could Read My Mind.

Looks like a lever filler. An Esterbrook maybe?

Here are some screenshots with vintage German pens in Fassbinder’s Lola (1981). The film is set in 1957 and the plot revolves around the building commissioner’s approval of a project. The building commissioner (Armin Mueller-Stahl) has a Pelikan 400 in a holder on his desk. Since the film just predates the M400, i’m assuming it’s an actual 400.

The mayor (Hark Bohm) has a cigar shaped pen in tortoise that he appears to be quite fond of. I’m not quite sure what the pen is

Peter Jones on BBC TV's Dragons' Den always writes with what looks like a silver fountain pen. In most clips it looks like a Yard-O-Led FP but the frames are so quick it's very hard to tell. Here's one clip where I managed to snag a quick picture of it.

Death in Paradise, an indifferent detective series, S6 E2, features a burgundy Montblanc. The episode concerns an apparent suicide of a young woman, the detective finds a suicide note which has been signed in ballpoint instead of the MB which was found at the scene of the murder/suicide.

Looks a bit like a Parker Duofold in this CBS Sunday Morning segment but probably clip art.

How about an FBI agent using a Parker Jotter in the movie Seberg.

CBS Sunday Morning segment about a new statue of women's rights pioneers. In close-ups, Elizabeth Cady Stanton can be seen holding a dip pen.

For the trivia lovers amongst us, does the statue offer evidence that Sojourner Truth was missing her right index finger in real life?

I’ve been searching all over the internet for some one who has seen the movie and knows the pens! I recognize the Conway! Awesome movie for stationery!

Rewatched Chinatown a while ago and there are a lot of fountain pens, some actually in use. Jack Nicholson’s office has several desk sets, Parker or Wahl i’m guessing & Faye Dunaway actually uses one to sign papers. You also see fountain pens in the LA County Clerk’s office when Jack Nicholson is investigating land deals.
