I think I've been plagiarized!! LOL
In the first episode of Ludwig, the main character, a crossword-setter, does puzzles with a distinctive Chinese fountain pen.

More about the pen on Reddit

and on YouTube
Later in the episode, some people who think he is someone else for reasons I won’t go into, notice and comment on his array of pocket pens.

The Netflix series "The Law according to Lidia Poët" is the story of the first woman to ever practice law in Italy. Set in 1883 Turin, this is a well made series with convincing props and truly marvelous wardrobe. Evidently there are no fountain pens, but some nice dip pens make their appearance.
This one, from Season 2 Episode 1, is a very interesting dip pen, most probably a "ladies model":

This other one, from Season2 Episode 4, is a more traditional dip pen:

Besides the high production values, the series grapples very convincingly with issues of sex discrimination in a male dominated society. There is no preaching here, just some great film making with scenes and dialogue that portray male chauvinism in its most natural form.
Belated Happy 10th Anniversary for this thread.
Anyone up for a film festival/binge watching session of all the movies and shows?

Some perspective on whether David Mitchell, who plays the pen-loving title character in Ludwig in post 1003 above, actually loves pens:

"Away" is a Netflix 2020 tv series about the first space voyage to Mars. In one of the flashbacks, Chinese Mission Control specialist Mei Chen (Nadia Hatta) is amazed that astronaut Lu Wang (Vivian Wu) knows brush calligraphy. No fountain pens here but in this scene you can see a bottle of Hero ink at the right.

Mei asks Lu to teach her calligraphy, which she immediately sets out to do (hold the brush vertically and move the wrist):

After some lessons, Mei shows Lu her progress:

The series is very well made but (spoiler alert) it was cancelled by Netflix after only one year. So I guess we'll never know if they made it to the red planet and back. I (expletive) hate it when good series are cut short like when the SyFy channel cancelled Stargate Universe and Caprica.
UPDATE: Just saw the final chapter in the (only) season and (spoiler alert) they finally made it to Mars. Oh well… at least the end of the season works well as the end of the series.

In the 1980 film, Dressed to Kill, Angie Dickinson makes a note with what I think is a Sheaffer School Pen.

Groucho Marx uses a quill pen of ridiculous length in Duck Soup, until Harpo cuts it down to size.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! (Well, maybe not the spammers.)

In the 1964 Disney film, Mary Poppins, George Banks of 17 Cherry Tree Lane, is preparing to start interviews for a nanny to replace the fourth one who has quit in as many weeks. He is at his desk writing with his dip pen when Mary Poppins arrives to interview for the job.IMG_8116.jpg
