In Renfield, the title character’s fountain pen runs out of ink, so he borrows a ballpoint

    which later becomes a weapon.

    Brooklyn Nine-Nine season 4 episode 20.

    Nine-Nine.jpg

Holt: Gina, as you know, my fountain pen is being re-nibbed in Germany.
Gina: Yes, it’s all no one is talking about.

    There's a meme too.

But the question is: Was Holt’s pen a Lamy, a Montblanc, a Pelikan, or something else?

The fourth episode of The Buccaneers, set in the 1870s, features a heartfelt declaration in an English country house with Italian ink from a Herbin-like bottle.

A familiar pen brand appears in the end credits of Lupin season 3.

Before rewatching to find any overlooked writing instruments, I tried Google.
It turns out there’s a French clothing retailer with the same name, so — false alarm.

As I am an inveterate optimist I did a search in the Bexley French retailer site and all I got was:

Penny loafers! I didn't know these were still around...

From the 2022 version of "All Quiet on the Western Front", Daniel Bruhl who plays a German diplomat holds a fountain pen. As in other WWI movies, a dip pen or a slender Waterman would have been more appropriate.

Crimson Peak is a wonderful 2015 film by Guillermo del Toro about certain events that take place in 1901. Edith Cushing (Mia Wasikowska) is an aspiring writer who marries the suave baronet Thomas Sharpe (Tom Hiddleston) who lives in a decrepit mansion with his sister Lucille (Jessica Chastain). Even though at that time most people would have been using dip pens, the fact that the film deals with wealthy individuals gives way to suspension of disbelief with some of the many scenes in which fountain pens are portrayed:

At first, our heroine uses a clip-less black pen to write her stories, which could have been a Waterman or Mabie Todd:

    writing.jpg

Naturally at this point in time using a fountain pen would many times result in inky fingers (and forehead):

    inky_fingers.jpg

Our heroine's father gives her a golden fountain pen, although what she really wanted was a typewriter:

Somebody on Reddit identified it as a Yard-o-Led Viceroy in Barley. This pen turns out to be an important plot device which I will not reveal so as not to ruin the surprise.
