According to the documentary series "What on Earth?" (episode: Warrior Fortress Mystery) in 1963 the foreign ministers of the USSR, USA and UK signed a treaty limiting nuclear testing, and one of the diplomats used a Parker 61 flighter:

I believe that treaty ended/prohibited atmospheric testing and grossly limited underground testing of nuclear weapons. I was 14 going on 15 at the time, but I remember it.

I've been catching up on a Spanish adventure TV series called "El Barco" (the boat) that deals with the survivors of a global cataclysm aboard a ship. During one of the episodes there is a flashback about the origins of the ship in 1941, in which the first captain sits down to write some notes. The pen looks like a Graf von Faber-Castell but it's hard to tell.

If you want to spend hours trying to ID pens in movies and TV, then I can recommend Foyle's War. Every episode show pens.

I have more than 100 pens in my collection, and I need a little help finding this type of pen. Similar cells can be found in historical films about the Battle of Berlin
Post an image from the movie showing the pen in question so we can identify it.

Andy Garcia’s character in Rebel. I think he is writing with a Cross Peerless. Although I can’t make out the desk set, could those be Pelikans? They look like blue striated and green striated.

Not sure what Andy Garcia's using above, but here's Tim Robbins in "The Player" with a Montblanc 146 or 149 on his desk. I'm guessing 149.

    In response to @spencerwilli's post:

"Not a movie but something that at least 800k people have seen is this picture that Job Biden @potus just posted (please no political comments, not the point). Who knows what type of pen this is? https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...67e7a735ea.png "

    -----

It looks like a Cross Century. Cross' website describes the Century II as "President Biden's pen of choice for his Inaugural Signing Ceremony."

According to a news release in the April issue of Penworld, "The current presidential pen is a Cross Century II black lacquer and 23-karat gold plated writing instrument." The article continues ... "Biden's pen is a Selectip, meaning that the pen can be switched with ease between rollerball, jumbo ballpoint, and felt-tip mode. The exact pen developed for President Biden is based on his specifications and is not sold to the general public."

It seems logical that the President chose the Cross pen based on their use in the White House when he was Vice President. American made, reasonably priced, etc.

I'm enjoying it. One benefit of being late to the party is I have five seasons to binge.

(Yeah, that character wrote a letter in cursive but there wasn't a clear view of the pen.)
Quite possibly, you'll need to rewatch the whole thing when the next season's out. At least that's what happened to me, because I was completely lost when I started watching the last two seasons. The show is just amazing, but very complex.

From the 1969 political thriller "Z" by Costa-Gavras, an officer takes notes with a pen that looks a lot like a Parker 51:

    Zmilitary.jpg

By the way, the officer's superior says to the guy: "No need to take notes. It's all in the materials we gave you."

After the political assassination of a prominent opposition leader, the investigating magistrate begins taking notes with a Cross ballpoint, but later changes to an FP with a very small nib, like a Waterman Taperite:

That or resort to reading online recaps if the wait for season 6 (end of the year maybe?) is long. I'm still on season 3, trying to make it last.

The Expanse is one of the awesomest shows I've watched in a long time. I really don't mind having to re-watch it before the final :-( season.
