    Default Pentel Brush Pen - OH MY!

    I ordered a Pentel GFKP brush pen in my last Tiger Pens order.

    A cartridge/convertor pen with a synthetic bristle tip - I messed about with it last night, a little, and WOW.

    The line you can get from it is incredible - really expressive, and sensitive to the slightest increase or decrease in pressure.

    The second sketch with it;

    I'd already used it to ink a pencil outline prior to this drawing - although the results are less consistent, it's a lot of fun to draw with this pen completely "free" (i.e. without any outline) although I'll need to get better at visualising the finished drawing to do so (I'd not allowed for the fox' ear being above the brim of the hat, for example). It's definitely worth trying one of these, if you're not wedded to the consistent line of a fineliner - the pentel ink is supposed to be waterproof and lightfast, so it should stand up to watercolour wash as well.
