About 2/3 of these were purchased in the last 6 months. And I've got a couple more 61's (one with a matching turquoise and gold BP, which I'm going to polish up and give to my wife) on the way. Turns out I like the 61. Who knew?

All but a handful are solidly "user-grade", and nothing is high cache, though there are a few that aren't the most common variants. Only the black lacquer Premier was bought new. Except for the two most expensive pens on the lower right, average price was $50-ish. I collect pens to use them (mostly).

Is that swirly blue thing a Kullak 51?

Current pen rotation: way too many!
Close, but only the barrel is Kullock. It's actually a Parker VS converted to blow filler.

I described the first one I made here

I liked it, so I bought another VS that was advertised to be cracked. Can't remember what I paid, but it wasn't all that much. I actually swapped out the barrels, so the section on the above pen is the same as in the thread. The other section I put with the purple barrel, but it was so brittle that it sheared off with just the pressure I used to lift the tines while smoothing the nib. Its nib is actually on the azure blue vac major (which came to me without a nib).

Be careful. Be very, very careful.

Not even nearly out of hand. A nice group with fine craftmanship on your part.

I like the green Parker 51.
But, I think I'll stay away from the "collection getting out of hand" thing

Nowhere near out of hand yet. But it's not too hard to get out of hand.
I'm afraid to count how many Parkers I've got now.

I hear you. If I had any intention whatsoever of collecting Parkers, I wouldn't even think I had really begun. It's the recent growth rate of my "set" despite my lack of intention that interests me.

These are only the Duofolds, then there are the 51īs, 45īs, and a few others...

Sorry, Jon. You're right, the thread is about Parkers. Here is most of the Parkers I remember buying last year...

Great stuff, Brian. IIRC, you do your own restoration, right?
Also, what is pen #1 in the bottom photo? That is one of the handsomest pens I've seen in a long time.

I love the Brian's Parkers, but I like the purple Sheaffer set, too... (big surprise).

Jon, the pen you're asking about is a strange one. Parker made the Challenger in blue in 1939/40. The pen you are asking about looks exactly like one of those. However, this one is Canadian made and is marked Duofold. I haven't gotten any input from anyone yet as to whether this is a normal find.
If you want to find one of these for yourself, look for a blue Challenger. They are quite a bit more difficult to find than the other colors because they weren't made as long, but they are around.
Mastersmith had one of these for sale late last year. You might inquire about its availability. It does have some color issues in the barrel and some brassing to the band, though. The Classified ad can be found here: http://fpgeeks.com/forum/showthread....thers-for-sale!
