I told myself and my lovely wife that I'm going to stick to vintage pens because most modern pens don't interest me. I have a small collection of modern and vintage Pelikan's. I'm hoping someone buys one with a fine nib and hates it so much that they want to sell it to me cheap.

Not sure if I misread but that nib on a blue M805 and just take my money. It's amazing.
I believe Dan has a blue M805 with bitone nib and he wanted a swap. But for those who are still looking to buy, starting next year the monotone rhodium nib comes as standard.

Previously, rhodium nibs in 800 size were only available to Gaudi LE and M910 Black-silver Toledo.

I was planning to get the latter in 2015 (set completistism problem), but nothing kills the appetite more than a big catch. A lesson learnt this year, kept for the next. Not to mention much easier on the wallet too.

I'm sure Classic Fountain Pens (nibs.com) will be getting a supply. I'm springing for a fine nib cut to stub by the estimable Mr. Mottishaw.

Nibs.com is now accepting pre-orders. A supply is expected in February:

Niche Pens are taking pre-orders for this and the M200 Cafe-Creme but there's no mention of prices just yet.

Me too, but sorry mate.. they are only available in EF, F, M, B. Or through special order S nib..

I'm gonna use this one as a jotter, so I ordered the EF..
Change of plan. I am getting an F instead. Anything other than F or M would have to wait for the second batch. Personally, I really don't care about point sizes anymore, so F it is.

I received the UPS tracking number from Pilar of IguanaSell last evening. It should be here next week, I'll post a pic or two by then. Cheers.

Just a heads-up, we are accepting pre-orders for the Stresemann. We were told the US launch was delayed until mid-March with most orders being fulfilled sometime in April, but we did get notice that a single pen with a medium nib is making its way to us and should arrive early next week.

Preordered mine from John Mottishaw at the LA Show, being able to show him the exact grind I wanted in person.
Whether it arrives in February (looking unlikely,) or April, I am not concerned. I have many pens to hold me over until this one arrives, but I am excited!

@ Tony ... it's beautiful... Pelikan really really got it right in a big way with this pen.

My bank account should be safe as long as they don't offer it in the M600. Until then I will just have to drool over other people's.

On one thread you read really nice advice for begginers on holding up your buys, take it slow with pen acquisition etc and then you see a pen like this...How can one hold up ??
This is a very beautiful pen.
    Congrats..enjoy

Me too. Sigh. Oh sigh. I adore the grey stripey loveliness. But the M800 is just a tad too large for me. Then again, I did eventually break down and spring for the M800 Tortie so I may end up with this pen after all. I have no self-restraint.
