I have the 743 with the FA. I swapped the nib into my 823 and it's now the ultimate Pilot (to me).

Your 823 is a vacuum filler? Have u suffered any skipping issues?

I have been eyeing a CH912 with FA nib but worried it will feel too narrow in my hand like my C74 but I would like an FA nib

I have to ask this, is the FA nib more like a traditional flex nib, rather than like Pilot?. Most of my pens are antique flex, so you can imagine my disappointment when I shelled out for a Pilot. Also tried one with the grind...still not my cup of tea....

I think the 823 is such a good looking pen and would like to get one, but only if the FA nib is more like a traditional flex..... Any feed back on a comparison from someone that's had/got both would be much appreciated.

The FA nib is traditional semi-flex nib at best. My experience comes from owning a 742 FA, 743 FA, Flex modified Bamboo and a prewar shiro nib just to name a few...

Hi guys. After receiving the 742 with FA nib as christmas present I was sorely disappointed as it skipped like crazy even though it worked wonders whenever it works. I happened to be in Tokyo last week and took the pen to a pen doctor at Pilot Pen Museum and it took the doctor 15 minutes only to fix it. Now it writes perfectly!!!
