A couple recent arrivals.
On the right is a 1950s tortoise Pelikan 400 with EF nib. Although it has its problems (the piston only travels about 11mm), it's usable in its unrestored condition (I haven't done more than flush it out and wipe it down since it arrived) and quickly became my default... now that its current load of ink is about used up, it'll get a proper cleaning. I'm not up to the challenge of fixing the piston, but fortunately even if it doesn't draw much ink, it's sufficient for a week's worth of writing. This is my first experience with a vintage Pelikan, and even in its current state it's far and away one of the nicest pens I've had the pleasure to use. It's a keeper!
On the left is a no-name German pen with 14k nib. The nib has a lion's head in a circle for a marque and "56" in a circle below it. I haven't inked it yet, but it draws and holds water okay. It'll probably go into service while the Pelikan takes a break.

Apologies for the poor photos, hastily taken in the waning daylight.

I bought two pens over the weekend.
The first one is a Sheaffer fullsize Balance vacfill with a white dot and a fine lifetime nib. This one will become repair parts for my Ebonized Pearl Balance that has a bad pushrod.
The second was a 1952? black P51 with a fine nib and a lustraloy cap. I just finished washing it out and I'm filling it with Parker washable green right now.

From my latest blog post:
I saw this BCHR (Black Chased Hard Rubber) ringtop pen and could not resist the price. It arrived yesterday. It is a smallish pen. The red cap finial is a transparent plastic or celluloid? The only thing is that it wreaks of cigarette smoke. I went through and wiped it down with water and cotton swabs, trying to keep the water to a minimum. I went through 4 swabs before they started to come clean. There is still a lot of smoke residue on the back side of the lever that I need to work on. I took it apart. No sac in it. There is some remains of the old ossified sac still stuck to the section nipple that I will have to scrape off. The lever assembly and sac press bar (is that what it's called?) are in good shape.
Cleaning this pen has been the worst and not something I was expecting. I do not smoke and this was just nasty. I had soot all over my hands and it took several hand washing's to get rid of the smell. Being hard rubber makes it tricky since I do not want to soak it. You don't really want to soak ebonite/hard rubber pens as water can make the ebonite swell and deform.
I have no idea what this pen is. There are no major identifying engravings. The nib says "Signature 4 Made in USA" and is steel. It seems like it may be semi flex. At least the tines spread easily with minimum pressure. The feed surprised me as the ink grooves run very deep. I thought it was ebonite but on close inspection it may be plastic, which seems odd. There is a "2" on the back end of the barrel. The chasing is very crisp which makes it odd that the area where there should be a manufacturer name is worn enough that it seems like there was never any type of engraving. I suspect it's third tear in nature. I will have to order a #16 sac based off my measurements of the section nipple.
Overall I think this is going to be a fun pen to use once it is working.
If you have any information on this pen, your comments are welcome.
This is the eBay photo.

I've had some success at getting old cigarette smoke smell out of small electronics (things you also do not want to soak) by sealing them in a box with an open container of distilled vinegar. I don't know if you'll want to do that to this pen, not without determining whether the acidic air will harm the material. I've also seen suggestions for doing the same thing with baking soda or activated charcoal or kitty litter, in place of vinegar. It has to be the last step, of course, after you're certain you've removed all the residue you can without scraping on the pen's surface.

This thread is dangerous, all sounds nice!! Need to order an ink sample of Majestic Blue!!
Not so patiently waiting for a Delta Blue Serena.
Today I visited a street market in Cardiff and one of the sellers had a box with a few old pens in, there was a Burnham and a Mabie Todd and the one that I picked up and quickly bought was a Parker Vacumatic Maxima, a Canadian version but it was in a very nice condition, it's all stripped, cleaned and polished and awaiting delivery of the new diaphragm, I had loads of diaphragms but none of them where for the large maximas, typical, can wait for the new ones to arrive on Saturday to get this gem working.
Paul
Edit
It turns out the pen is an Oversize from 1938 and not a Maxima.

I was gifted a Limited Edition Delta Native Americans 1K-R2. I'm a major newb to this sort of thing and Im wondering how much a brand new un-used one of these would go for ?

My TWSBI 580 Rose Gold came! It is beautiful, really, just very elegant. Even my husband who doesn't get the FP thing at all finds this one very attractive. He wouldn't use it, but he could see why I wanted it. So that's pretty amazing!
And snagged a blue Parker Vac (I have always wanted a blue as it is my favorite color) with a 1.1 stub from Greg, waiting for that to arrive in the mail.

Sounds like a great haul tandaina!
Greg has some great pens, but i am always too slow off the mark!
Weeee! It came, it came!
Blue is my favorite color and the first time I saw a Vac I knew I needed a blue one... But I don't write well with a fine nib and they all seemed to be fine. Not this one. 1.1 or 1.3 stub. Juicy and smooth and the pen is so blue it looks like a sapphire! That's it, my Parker pen is acquired, I seriously will likely be selling the couple others I've got cause this pen is the Vac I have been hunting!
Even has a pretty engraved band instead of the simple thing bands on my other two! Thank you Greg!

@ Paul H: I have the same color P1 but an oblique medium nib...how does yours write?
Guider large Ebonite in Brown
Wanted: Clever signature
Apply in person....
It writes a silky smooth wet line which is identical to the M800 BB. and well worth the money paid £35, I got it on ebay from a Australian seller, these are quite rare on ebay, other than a couple that have been on there for ages and priced well over £100 and one with a cracked piston for over £60 there have been very few of these pens listed and I was very surprised to get mine for £35 and the shipping from Australia was quick and quite reasonable in cost.
That,s my first Pelikan and now with the M800 I have two in the same month, don't suppose I will have as many as I do Parkers but I am sure there are more out there waiting for me.
