Fountain Pen Sith Lord | Daakusaido | Everything in one spot
It was a clean swap without any modifications at all. The nib has a slightly 'flatter' profile and the feed and section are round, but it was close enought that there is a good fit without any leaking. A bit of ink can be observedon the base of the nib itself but never comes out into the open. The nib and feed are housed in a threaded nib unit that screws into the section and is sealed by not one but two silicon o-rings.

I've never been so drawn to the Diplomat Aero that I felt the need to buy one, but when I watched Figboot's recent review of the Aero Factory I caught the bug. I loved the unfinished, raw-aluminum look of the pen with all the tool marks intact, and I was feeling a longing for a really nice steel-nibbed, metal-bodied pen since Dan Smith has had my Waterman Expert III for what feels like ages now, so I decided to see what was out there. I wasn't willing to pay $200 for one; I [I]might[I/] have been willing to buy one using the 20%-off coupon code, but I figured I might be able to do better than that, still.
Way back when I bought my first (of, ultimately, several) Waterman Experts, a friend pointed out to me a quirk of Amazon's pricing algorithm. A Waterman that was $163 today might be $48 tomorrow, and vice versa. Indeed, the price for that first Expert dropped $10 just in the time it took me to click on the different finish/nib combinations to compare the price differences. I subsequently bought several heavily-discounted pens by exercising patience and checking prices daily.
So I decided to check out Amazon to see if I could once again hit the "Amazon Automated Pricing Algorithm Lottery". And brothers and sisters, did I ever. I managed to pick up this beauty brand new for around $75. At that price it would have been stupid not to buy it. Within two days the price for the same pen, from the same source, was up to a hair under $151. Needless to say I'm pretty stoked right now!

Well congratulations on your nice score!

Got a MB149, a Pilot Custom 823, and an R805 Stresemann. Don’t lynch me for the rollerball, I need to fill out carbon paper every now and then and I’m sick of looking at the pile of cheapo RBs and BPs sitting on my desk. I guess the rollerball will come in handy for some sketches and stuff as well, when instructing coworkers and such.
Montblanc, although a non problematic writer, has left me thoroughly unimpressed. Will probably go for sale sooner or later. But the Pilot Custom 823 is unbelievably amazing. I had very little hopes for that one, as it was going against my flock of Pelikans, but it stands it's own as an amazing writer.

Nothing fancy but I got another E. Faber Permapoint. Demi.
The "medium" nib is smooth with good flow, a bit of feedback, and is a pleasure for me to write with. It writes about the same line width as my Safari EF.
My other Permapoint had a user-ruined nib. Glad to try a good factory example.
I plan to give this to a co-worker who expressed interest in fountain pens. I've been testing it for a couple days now.

I went on a bit of a spree this week. This is the first to arrive. I keep an FA-nibbed CH912 on my desk at work for signing documents, but I wanted something similar for writing at home. The one downside of the 912 is that it doesn't really like writing when it's not being flexed, so I decided to go with the Falcon since it doesn't appear to suffer that same affliction. I'm happy to say that, so far, it's a champ. It is crazy-juicy though.

Grabbed this pair for $50.
The accommodation clip was on the red ring top, so I swapped it over. Both pens have "Made in Japan" on the crescent fillers, but no other markings. The clip is marked "Spors". Removing the caps reveals some glass nibs!
I have read that Spors pens can be a pain to separate the section from the barrel. However, both of these have screw on sections...
... so I don't think they are Spors pens. If someone has other info (likely) then please say.
Right, got to measure and then buy some sacs, which will no doubt need cutting to size. The nibs were dipped in ESSRI and the larger pen wrote very smoothly. The red pen needs a little abrasive work, though only a little.
Fun pens!

I've had some of these glass nib crescent fillers and, as you say, many of them can be very difficult to disassemble. They come in some dazzling patterns!
The Mont Blanc arrived! This is a school/budget pen, apparently a 221 from the 70's. So I guess this is like the Porsche 914 of MB pens...?
Anyway it is inked up and seems to write very well. The 14K nib is springy like my '30s Balance Jr. but without line variation. So far so good.
I also acquired a sampler set of flexy dip pen nibs...

Loved Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea. This pen is the spirit of all that, and Captain Nemo.
