I jokingly said in another forum yesterday (no, not the one which is still down for maintenance), that perhaps I should observe this by using only ballpoints and gel pens, to remind myself why I like fountain pens.
But of course, when it comes right down to it, I don't really need such a reminder. So far today I have used a Montblanc Noblesse, Parker 180, Pilot Elite, and Namiki Falcon. I did make a quick note with a Space Pen, may use some Pigma Microns later, and will certainly be using some wood pencils.
I wish everyone many enjoyable days of writing by hand, and hope that fountain pens will be part of that.

Badger and Blade, a forum mainly devoted to classic wet shaving (straight razors, single bladed safety razors of different kinds, shaving brushes and soap instead of "canned goop", that sort of thing)...um, where was I?
Oh yes, Badger and Blade also has subforums on other interests, including one called "The Nib". I no longer have anything to say about shaving there, although I do use vintage single edge safety razors, brushes, and soap. But I still make the occasional post in the fountain pen section.
EDIT
If you find a "Kaputnik" posting there, by the way, it's somebody else. In my earlier days of web-forum usage, it actually never occurred to me that there would be any reason to use one user name across multiple sites. Over there, I'm "Slivovitz".

Until I saw this thread here, and the many posts on the /r/fountainpens, I'd not heard of Fountain Pen Day. Is there some history behind it?

Oh, you mean what I do each morning and have been doing since my teenage years?

Okay... back on track.
Overall, I had a good FPD. My Soennecken 506 is not leaking in Day 3 of testing, so the piston restoration looks like to be a success.
And then I got a shipment of a few genuinely vintage Kaweco Palladium nibs. One of which y'all get to see in this photo:
I'll share the story about this pen in a Review sometime.
I had already bought ink a few days ago, so I couldn't justify more today.
I also bought a Sheaffer Balance yesterday, so I couldn't justify buying a pen today.
However, who needs justification!
So, today I bought a 1920 Moore black chased hard rubber lever filler. That ought to do it. It'll forever remind of Fountain Pen Day 2020.
Observed FPD by using one (a stubbed 1980s OMAS 557/F) for another NaNoWriMo session.
Sorry for the thread drift, but I was an avid collector of vintage shaving tools ranging from a Wade and Butcher 1845 straight to my most modern Schick Krona vintage mid 1960's. I collected vintage glass shaving mugs and all the honing/maintaining rocks, etc to use a straight. It is like fountain pens, so much fun. I first found out about FP restorations on a shave forum, so I suppose its only appropriate for a member here to consider shaving with a 1930's Barasol FLoating Head DE on a FP forum.
And, the best shave for the buck is a GEM Micromatic Open Comb....
After yesterday's posts, I observed Fountain Pen Day, by inking a pen I hadn't used in a long time, in fact, a type of fountain pen I hadn't used in a long time. Actually, it could be said that this one pen represents two types I haven't used in some time. It's a Parker 51, and the nib has been reground as a stub.
As for razors, since I brought it up, I'm currently using this old injector razor, which is probably older than I am, and I'm in my 60s. But I frequently switch to single edge safety razors of like the other one pictured here. It's the oldest one I actually use, from around 1907, but I would generally use one a bit more modern, say from the post WW I era at least. My first razors were double edged, just a little before cartridges were introduced.

I’m a bit old fashioned; after all, i still write with a fountain pen. I shave with a double edged blade.
I don’t like shaving but i don’t like having a beard, either. I just get what works, in my case Feather blades & whatever holds them. I have an allergy to something they put in the canned shaving creams and all those dumb 5 blade cartridges etc are really expensive and don’t shave that well. The electric beard pullers are even worse.
