Received a Conklin Crescent Filler (probably a #20, it's 10.5cm uncapped up to the section lip, 13.5cm capped, just shy over 1cm thick on the barrel).
Unfortunately the Conklin nib on it has cracks on both sides of the breather hole from being sprung (so I'm on the lookout for a replacement semi-flex/flex nib that's 27mm x 6mm), went ahead and disassembled it to check all the insides, and sac seems to be holding good for 24 hours now (got it talc'd up), I'll seal the section again once I figure out the appropriate sac size and get it re-done new. (The seller has been rather upstanding in regards to the advertised flexible nib showing abuse)
In the meantime I pulled the semi-flex EF Swan #2 nib I have off my Swan 205/60 until I can get an original conklin nib. I like the body of the crescent filler so far, it's longer and slightly thicker than my 205/60.
Debating whether or not I'd want to send it off to be re-blackened.

A PenBBS 469 (in Disk Mist) arrived on my doorstep, mere minutes after leaving town for an overnight trip to my father-in-law’s. (Talk about anxiety inducing, especially since the package was left rather un-protected by the courier.) Thankfully, it didn’t sprout legs and walk away.
I included a shot of how sizable this pen is, compared to my current EDC lineup. For those wondering, the remaining pens are (from L-R) Noodler’s Charlie, Noodler’s Konrad (ebonite): Methuselah’s Pine Cone), PenBBS 469, & F-C Pocket 40: 2016 Philly Pen Show SE.

Goldnibs.com could repair that nib; they made a splendid job of a rare No 7 Waterman's Keyhole I had. The picture shows the crack running down from the keyhole. Sadly I cannot find a picture of the reapired nib, but it was a splendid job and the pen is now sold.Waterman's 7.jpg

Goldnibs charges €95 including return postage in Europe. I considered this worth it for the Waterman's nib pictured above and I also had them re-tip a Waterman's 7 nib. They do very good work.
I daresay that it is possible to get this done cheaper in the US but with customs charges and the outrageous postage many American sellers like to charge, it would not be economic for me to investigate.

Aside: unfortunately the USPS charges insane postage rates for international shipping.
Anyway, I am super excited about this virtually new Pilot Stargazer purchased from a fellow FPG member. I wished this pic could do it justice.
The pen is even prettier in person. Like David Bowman would say, in wonder, "my God! —*it's full of stars!"
First impressions: The soft 14k F nib, is quite enjoyable and I like the line width and feedback. Only a tad heavier than I usually go with, length is convenient and usable u posted. Grip is spot on and step is unnoticeable.
I need to think of things to write so I can use it more! (In the pic I am making notes on Esterbrook J jewel replacement).

I found this pen for one of my buyers. It has such a lovely flexible nib.
I'm in the middle of restoring it, plus the feed and nib position needs to be adjusted.

No new pens for the foreseeable, but this is my latest.
The nib is a medium Jowo ground to an italic by FPNibs.
[apologies for the crap writing and photography, as always]

A Swan SF2 with a nice broad flexible stub nib with what I call a "dip tip" - some people call this a Waverley nib but it isn't!!
And a handsome Onoto from about 1920

Wing Sung 3001 just arrived tonight. I inked up this Pilot 78G clone with Parker Quink Black and first impression was quite good.
Reliable writer, hint of feedback, perfect flow, nice EF line, good ergonomics. Converter is a little wonky but it works. Not as refined as the Pilot I am sure but for $2 (or even 5x that much) it is well worth it.
Nice remedy to the Jinhao 51A that came yesterday with disappointing, hard starting, oddly ground, overly wet F (writes like M) crap nib.

This A&W Marquis by Mutschler (recommended by a local FP user) arrived with it's twin last night. Initially it was a disappointment with hard starts. Flushing and nib tuning was to no avail.
Same this morning. Then I switched ink to Iroshizuku Take-sumi and so far the issue seems to have gone away.
Seems to write pretty smoothly with good flow now. I will spend some more time with it before passing any final judgement.

The nib isn’t marked, so this could very well be a M. It sort of skirts the line between F and M.

I am waiting for a green and a petrol Lamy Safari, and a purple Pilot Metropolitan (European version). I had a difficulty to choose between the green and pink Safari, but since a purple FP is coming in, I didn't saw quite the need for a pink one.
Perhaps one day I can get the dark lilac Safari.....
Argh, decisions, decisions!
