Pictures from Central Ohio Pen Club
The Central Ohio Pen Club held out regular monthly meeting when it was “European Pen Day”. Members shared pens and ink from a variety of European countries, including some that are not the most common sources of pens. Here are some pictures that illustrate just a small portion of the variety members had the chance to see and play with.
Italy was well represented by this group of VIscontis along with a few additional of their countrymen.
Three Homo Sapiens – left to right the Florentine Hills, London Fog, and Crystal. One even changed owners during the meeting.
Moving on to Germany, we found two vintage Montblancs, a 172 and a 244 both circa 1950’s.
Very neat little Kaweco set from the 1970’s in its original case
Lotsa Lamy’s
Two of the Lamy Lx’s
a Faber Castell Loom
And of course some birds…. little birds,
and bigger birds.
Birds of many colors.
UK was represented by a Mabie Todd Swan Self Filler
and a group of vintage Conway Stewarts. L to R a CS15 Casein, CS36, CS388, C77 Herringbone, and CS Exec 60, all circa 1940’s to 1950’s
Two artisan produced pens from Spain, one turned from olive wood and the other from a corn cob!
And two Inco brand pens from Poland, thought to be from the 1950’s. The red pen was engraved “cena det. 25 zl” which means “suggested price 25 Polish dollars”
And of course there was plenty of European ink. Spotted in this group were KWZ (Poland), Akkerman (Netherlands), Diamine (UK), J Herbin (France), Edelstein (Germany), and Rohrer & Klinger (Germany).
We had a blast, as always. Want to join the fun? Our next meeting will be Sunday May 13 from 2 to 4 pm at Columbus Metro Library Northern Lights Branch, 4093 Cleveland Ave, Columbus when our theme will be: “Pens you Regret Buying”. Bring such a pen for Show & Tell.
