How are desk pen recepticals made?
I have a Wahl Doric desk pen, missing its receptical. I'd like to manufacture some sort of holder for it while I search around for a vintage one--- probably by machining a form cutter to make a cone in Delrin. This led me to speculate about the original manufacture of vintage cones. I assume they were molded, then the facets were hand-polished?
Can any of you give me a hint?
Thanks
BTW, to my eye this long, thin, plume-like Doric black desk pen is a magnificent object. It dances in the hand and wags its tail. Perhaps banks were subliminally inducing joy in their patrons as they filled out deposit slips.
