Hi all,
What would be in your essential everyday carry set?
Mine I'm thinking would be a FP, BP, mech pencil and doc marker / highlighter.
Should cover every situation I think.
Cheers

Easy.
Three fountain pens: one with blue, one with black and one with blue black ink.
Today, as an example:
- Conid Minimalistica Ti <FCI> - Visconti Blue
- Sheaffer Valiant II <F> - Sailor Do-You
- Lamy 2000 <MCI> - Akkerman Ijzer-Galnoten

Vintage. Cursive italic. Iron gall.
Well my carry is for a highschool student so yeah:
Parker 51 (Fine nib with Waterman Encre Bleu Mystère)-Note taking and any quick writing.
Parker 75 (Medium nib with classic Parker Quink)-Generally used for longer writing sessions for my English or History class.
Parker Sonnet (Medium nib with a delightful Iroshizuku Autumn Leaves)-Used for proofreading, correcting and any edits.
Parker Jotter (black gel insert)-A handy pen to lend if anyone asks for a pen.
Lastly, a Pentel Sharp Kerry for Math, and it has a cool fountain pen esq look.

I sketch in spare moments and also journal, so my ultimate minimum is a Noodler's flex pen paired with a water brush. Ink for only one pen is a blue black gray, such as monteverde azure noir or fuyu syogun or kaweco smokey grey. If a 2nd pen fits in then I add a fude pen (jinhao or duke) with brown ink such as noodler's Kiowa Pecan or platinum sepia black. My favorite pencil is the caran d'ache 2mm which is light and classy, with hexagonal body, and has a built in sharpener so it works for writing and drawing.
One fountain pen.

For outside the house:
Pilot Vanishing Point in black with a fine nib. Right now it's got a blue Pilot cartridge installed.
For note, Field Notes. I use the Signature Sketch Book because the Strathmore paper in it does not bleed.

P51 plus matching pencil and a red VPen.
I usually carry three fountain pens -- one in my shirt pocket and two in a leather carrying case in another pocket somewhere. I also invariably carry no ball point pens at all. I swap the fountain pens around as the urge hits me, but I always try to carry at least one inked with a water resistant or waterproof ink, preferably one of the De Atramentis document inks, which I am just cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs about.

Wow!! You people certainly know your stuff. Inks, flex pens, fude pens, paper types, etc. Glad I joined here. Lot's to learn. Thanks
Generally one (just one) of the following: Sailor 1911 Tangerine (Large) w/ med. stub nib; or Pelikan M101n w/med. stub nib; or my Conid Regular Bulkfiller Flat Top w/med. ti nib. The Sailor and Pelikan pens are loaded with Iro. yama-guri; the Conid is on a steady diet of Iro. asa-gao.
(Oh yes, and a cheap bp for the occasional clerk who may need one to mark up my checks at the grocery.)

I tend to carry more than I need, I had three fountain pens at work today among other things, but if I'm just walking around and keeping it to a minimum:
Fountain pen with a fine or fine/medium nib, with a practical blue or blue black ink. Typically one of my better Pilots (CH 91 or 92) or a trusted vintage model such as my Parker Vacumatic.
Mechanical pencil, .7 mm or thicker leads.
Fisher Bullet Space Pen (carried in a pants pocket), seldom used, but occasionally useful for writing on bad paper, in awkward positions, or lending to someone.
A small notebook with FP friendly paper. Currently a little Rhodia one that fits in a shirt pocket.
There's also always another Fisher Space Pen in my car, along with a small mechanical pencil. I can't remember the last time I was caught without something to write with or on.

I always carry a FC45 in my jean pocket. Then one to maybe three pens in a case in my purse depending on the days activities. I have a Romulus pen I keep a 1.5 Jowo nib on that I carry when I have to write duplicate checks. The choice of carry pens in my purse depends on my mood that day.
I usually carry 2 pens in my shirt pocket: one with a stiff XF or F nib (usually a Parker 51) for use on crappy paper and another with a semiflex M or B nib (usually a Pelikan) for writing on nice paper or signing documents.
I also use the P51 for those occasions in which someone asks for a ballpoint. Invariably the reaction is hilarious!
This week
An Aurora Black Mamba .... new pen and I like it for all of my personal writing medium Nib .. ink black Take-Sumi
Noodler Triple Tail ...... for redlining or stand out notes.... #6 NIb ink Red Momiji
Lamy 2000 rollerball ...... contracts and other people pen
Case TACCIA ...... Picked up at Philly pen show .... undecided between leather and the kimono style case. I like leather
Kaweco Copper Lilliput at the moment filled with Diamine Ancient Copper of course!
I keep my FP's in a messenger bag front pocket which also includes a fine point Sharpie, flashlight, Pilot V7, highlighter, and a comb.
I carry a Lamy Studio EF and Pentel graphgear .5mm mechanical pencil in my planner binder. I have blue, black and red Uni Powertank bp pens in a pouch I toss in my briefcase. I also carry a 6" ruler.
I use a fountain pen and a paper planner - paperinkplan.wordpress.com
