That Kum Masterpiece sure can make a long sharp lead. I like that.

Somewhere somewhere I have one of those little red bakelite Scotty-dog sharpeners. Alas, it ran off to hide.

I have 2 of those X-Acto School Pro sharpeners (one at home, one at work) and I have the red KUM 2-stage long point sharpener, which I quite like.
I would think the Kum Masterpiece would be John Wick's first pick for a pencil sharpener.
0.5mm vs 0.7mm graphite sizes is much like 9mm vs 45acp...they both work if you know what you are doing. - me
Looking for Caran d'Ache Type 55 2mm set and Rotation .7 pencils.
@Bob
The Apsara is not bad, either. But it requires to be more careful, and aware of not breaking the lead while sharpening. Otherwise, point wise, it is Masterpiece's equivalent.

I have a cheap manual rotary upstairs in my office, but most of the time I use one of my 0.5mm mechanicals. I also keep a cheap Papermate Sharpwriter disposable mechanical pencil in each of my music folders, for marking music. Don't have to sharpen those, and it doesn't hurt when one of them gets lost.
In my mug: Sailor 21 P-P M, Cross Solo M, Online Calligraphy, Monteverde Invincia F, Hero 359 M, Jinhao X450 M, Levenger T-W M, Jinhao 159 , Platinum Balance F, TWSBI Classic 1.1, Platinum Preppy 0.3 F, 7 Pilot Varsities, Speedball penholder, TWSBI 580 USA EF, Pilot MR, Ahab 1.1, another Preppy 0.3, Preppy EF 0.2, ASA Sniper F, Click Majestic F, Kaweco Sport M, Pilot Prera F, Baoer 79 M, Hero 616 M, Jinhao X750

I really like the small premium sharpeners. I just wish there were more of them.

Do any of the crank sharpeners, like the carl angel have rubber grips? All the crank sharpeners I’ve seen have metal grips and they put little notches in your pencils. Thanx
In childhood, I loved to use sharpeners with different characters but I remember, only steel sharpeners were good at sharpening the lead of my pencil. These days, different kind of sharpeners are available in the market. I am going to share some good manual and electric ones with you:
School Smart - I remember, my daughter is using it from two years and quality is outstanding
Laneco - It is a very good electric one. I love its colour
Prismacolor Scholar - It is a very good manual one
However, you can see more good electric pencil sharpeners here ( https://bestazy.com/8-best-electric-pencil-sharpener/ ). I am planning to gift X-ACTO ProX to my daughter next week.

Just got one of the two stage KUM Automatic Long Point sharpeners. Probably the best $6 a pencil user can spend.
Boston electric salvaged when my company closed one of its offices.
My wife got an X-Acto School Pro for my daughter. I'm not really a pencil sharpener aficionado but it seems to work nicely.

Prior to yesterday, whatever slipjoint pocketknife was in my pocket, or a Stanley 10-499 Box Cutter/Utility Knife.
As of yesterday, an X-Acto KS manual wall mount (or desk mount) sharpener with twin cutters, like I remember my teachers having on the left front corner of their desk (only one of my 3rd grade teachers had hers on the wall) back in grade school and Junior High during the 1960's, which arrived yesterday.
