I decided to try my hand at chromatography so I watched a bunch of videos and dove in. I don't know if I did it right but figured I would at least post it and see what everyone thought.
Both pictures are the same strip just under different light.
Thanks

I thi k we've gotten reviews from almost everyone... Any more guesses or should we do the big reveal?

Reveal - I have no guesses!
I use a fountain pen and a paper planner - paperinkplan.wordpress.com
My closest was Krishna Yellow Valley, but side-by-side swabs and chomas revealed a significant difference.
Sooo...what amazing ink is this?
My other pen is a Montblanc.

My guesses were Krishna Inks Mint - looks yellower than the Ghat Green, and from Nick Stewart’s test it looks like the yellow stays bright enough (https://nickstewart.ink/2017/07/21/k...-swatch-tests/). And Robert Oster Chartreuse.
(Wouldn't be surprised if it was something Japanese, but I am way out of touch with all the vendor-specific Sailors).

I don´t want to block anybody, but could we keep the game open for at least some additional days?
I´m sorry for being that late, but I try to test the ink at weekend.
I might want to buy it before I leave for home, so I'm also waiting for the reveal.
Ptero you can still do your testing and post it on here in the Quick Reply box without first reading the thread after the reveal. We trust you.

Alright, time for the big reveal.
I wanted to try a brand that I didn't see a lot of posts about. It is from a company based in the U. S. but the ink itself is made in Germany. We already had an ink from Colorado. This company is in Pennsylvania and has absurdly long, weird names for their inks.
The ink is... Birmingham Pen Company's Rodman Gun Gunpowder Tea.
Incidentally, I also bought a bottle of their Duquesne Incline Station Red and am really enjoying this brick red in color and behavior. I currently have it loaded in one of my Esterbrooks. Maybe I will do a quickie review.
Thanks, everyone for your participation—it has been great fun as always!
I am going to take break for a week or two before the next round, MI #27, an ink I am very much looking forward to trying out.

*gasps in shock*
Never, never would have guessed a U. S. ink, much less this particular brand. This is awesome. Thanks so much, azkid, for keeping the Mystery Train rolling.

Awesome ink I really liked it and love that it's a US brand. I loved the multiple qualities of this ink. But I would not have guessed the color that it is by the name. I somewhat get the tea color but not gunpowder. I'd love to get more of this ink sometime, probably won't be an everyday ink but I like having different colors for each journal entry that I write.
I'd especially like to see the red ink since red inks are one of my favorites. I always have noodlers nikita in a Charlie eyedropper and when funds become available I have a list of different reds I'd like to get.
Thanks

Thank you azkid and wow! It looks very much like a Noodler's bottle. Does that mean Noodler's make Birmingham inks??

The Birmingham inks are made in Germany.
They have a lot of very nice colors available, each ink given interesting historical, regional names with brief explanations on the label.
When I get a chance I will post a review thread on the red ink.

I would never have got that either, despite having just bought some Birmingham inks from another member... (I also do like their names).
Sorry for the huge delay, life sometimes is difficult.
Even I´m way too late I´ve inked up MI #26 today in a Pelikan 140 OF.
I also noticed the almost hypnotic neon color in the water when cleaning my syringe (which I had to use the piston filler as there was only very few ink left after the transport leakage).
The ink is also quite durable on skin.
In the Pelikan I´ve noticed a really good flow, the ink seems to be quite wet as my OF nib runs quite wide.
I really like the color, it´s quite unusual and the ink also shades really nicely.

Azkid, thanks again for providing the samples, I really appreciate them

Also for sketching purposes it is not bad at all, looks quite interesting for me and it play well with water.

I´ve enjoyed using this ink, it is a very unusal color, nice for writing and sketching.
countrydirt (August 30th, 2019)
Wow I am pleasantly surprised at how nice that ink looks in sketches. I did not expect that at all.
Thanks so much for reviewing (always better late than never) and glad to see your posts more regularly again.

To be honest I was also a little bit surprised, normally I prefer darker inks for sketching because of the greater achievable contrast and dynamic range.
Thanks again for providing the inks.
