Here's my new Faggionato (red cherry acrylic, Petrarque King Size)
With Pel 400 and Platinum 3776 briar wood, two of my older favourites.
A little bit new and a little bit old
Yesterday my Franklin Christoph Model 66 Antique Glass SE arrived and its all inked up with Sailor Ink Studio #162 (a light grey green )
And today , I received a nice Green Hatched Conway Stewart 58 with an accompanying Mabie Todd Swan Self-Filler Box. It was listed as a Swan Self-Filler but I could see in the pictures it was a Conway Stewart of some form and I'm glad I was right - not sure I got any real bargain but it was satisfying to know I knew it was misidentified
Just needs a new sac which is within the limits of my repair skills

I found this Monte Verde Aldo Domani with a stub nib. It should be here tomorrow. :-)

I bought this used Parker 100 pen while in Florida in June. I've only just started to get it writing as it should after much cleaning out. It's scary pulling out that nib to check the feed is OK.

That 100 is a pretty pen. I am unfamiliar with the model.
I have a couple of new Parkers, now.
I've been wanting an unassuming 51 Special for a few months. The teal blue is a bonus. This one was made in 3Q 1950 and has a perfectly nice Octanium nib. Microscratches abound but the pen works perfectly and the Pli-glass sac looks new with no discoloration.
The red 45 CT was kind of a whim. I saw Fred's listing here and it ticked a couple of quest boxes: red 45 and CT. This one has a nice gold, medium nib and, as a bonus, a squeeze converter.
My latest is a TWSBI Eco Broad nib. Really like it.

Isn’t the hero 100 a Parker “51” copy? Why not get a Parker “51” ?
fair warning: they are highly addictive (just bought another one tonight on the bay... this will be my 11th...)
If you are looking for a cheaper option or one you can abuse without feeling guilty, i highly recommend a wing sung 601 (i have several. All work very well)
Maybe buy a few Jinhao 51A C/C pens? Same shape and design. Enough heft that they don't feel hopelessly cheap (to me). They don't dry out for weeks.
The ones I have had (all 0.38mm nibs) that worked out of the box were surprisingly nice writers.
Had one with baby's bottom but I fixed that and now it is really good. Get the hooded kind.
There is a seller on ebay offering brass c/c adapters for Parker 51. No idea how they work. Parker tried to sell a 51 C/C and they discontinued it after a year or two....
Maybe a Parker 45? Not exactly the same dimensions but I find I naturally write well with both 51 and 45. My 45s don't dry out easily and I think they write somewhat similarly to a Hemisphere (I have both in F nib).
I am happy to share my latest acquisition.
I spent months trying to locate this pen and finally got lucky at BellamysWorld

While on my holidays I had almost forgotten I had placed a bid on this pen. And then found out I won!
A franken pen - an Evans 200 body in woodgrain ebonite, with a Sheaffer 14k nib wedged in. The cap band is thoroughly brassed, but I think that just gives it character. Seems to write okay (has a new sac), but may be ink-temperamental. Currently has Herbin Lie de The.
In a weird way this fulfils my 'woodgrain' desire and my 'Sheaffer' desire in one pen. As I am unable to source either of these things individually.
Undecided on whether this sparks joy at this stage though, as it is writing too wet at present. This is the sort of pen Penwash would likely enjoy tinkering with, I suspect.

Another Jinhao 51a arrived today. I hadn't seen this color scheme so I figured why not. They make good, reliable giveaways for pen noobs and are good daily writers too.

Hey, this seems like a great thread for my first post (apart from the introduction).
My latest addition came in on Thursday, it's a Pelikan M800 Renaissance Brown with a medium nib. It's very, very beautiful. The material has great depth, the quality and finish are as good as you'd expect from a German product, and the nib is very pleasant. It is a real medium, and has a medium ink flow, which should make it useable on almost any kind of paper except the worst. In other words: I'm in love.
