It's been a while since I updated the news about the new WAHL-EVERSHARP Company activities, so here is a quick recap of current events:
The WAHL-EVERSHARP Company prepares to celebrate the 100th anniversary since the names WAHL and EVERSHARP came together in 1915. That occurred when Charles Keeran, credited with inventing the first practical mechanical pencil, was directed by the Elgin Machine Tool Company to the WAHL Adding Machine Company in Chicago, IL,to see their machine turning equipment in operation. Although the story is a fascinating one, and can be addressed another day, the result was that WAHL began to produce the EVERSHARP Pencil, first as a contractor, and later as the owner of the EVERSHARP Brand.
The Celebration kicks off with the release of the 100 Year Pens:
Continuing the rich history of "Machine Turned (Guilloche) WAHL-EVERSHARP pens, below is the Very Limited Edition SkyScraper Pen in Rose Gold and Yellow Gold Plate with Sapphire blue Derby and Section
This pen will be limited to 100 Fountain pens and 30 Roller Ball Pens, each with its unique number engraved.
There will be some "unlimited" edition 100 Year Pens too:
Below is the Celluloid and Resin Black and Pearl 100 Year Pen that comes with 18K Solid Gold 2-tone Double Check Nib (not yet installed on the prototypes in these photos), and is a True Piston Filler with permanent tail piece filler actuator.
And also in Blue Marble and Red Marble
These pens are under "reservation order" requests now and will be delivered in Early August (and at the Washington D.C. Supershow) to the lucky owners.
More news soon.
