Ranger said "Dude, just go in the cabinet and take a quick shot. It's not like I'm going anywhere." The hilarious part, which you can't see in this photo, is that the crescent is monogramed J.M.S., which happen to be my initials. Not as colorful as Karl's pen, but another example of that short trend in Japan.

I've come across quite a few "glass" nib ones in the wild but they're usually lever fillers and sometimes the glass nib part is actually some kind of early plastic by the way they seemed warped (or just cheap blown glass?).
Usually I don't bother getting them, and wouldn't think of ever spending more than $5 for em. In this case I spent 40 after the discount not realizing it was neither brand I was thinking or that the nib and feed entirely wasn't meant to go in it. But on the plus side it has a usable #3 Wahl semiflex nib, and technically is still a pre-1950s Japanese pen which I tend to keep my eye out for even if it was never meant as a fountain pen with a metal nib.
Hopefully I'll make it work, crescent fillers are fun, used to have one but it left in a trade for which I didn't get my part of the trade for.

Sheaffer's flex nibs are hens teeth....nice! Also those rose glow pieces are amazing, especially the pencil.

Lovely pen, beautifully captured, Karl.

A couple of weeks ago, I saw this lovely pen for sale by a very reputable eBay dealer (that I have purchased pens from before - nwfinejewelers) - a Pineider La Grande Bellezza Gemstones with 14k quill nib in the Tigereye color - so on a whim, I bought it.

I am enjoying this broad springy, slightly flexy nib so much that, on a whim, I bought this one, in the Hematitle color - with a 14k medium nib.

And while I was enjoying this lovely smooth, slightly flexy nib, my husband nabbed it and I haven't seen it since.
No, truthfully, this is how he gets his pens - I end up picking them out for him.
But, I found another - a lapis blue one with another broad nib - and ordered it. It should be here next week.
And that is the end of my pen purchases for 2021.

In the last few weeks had a bit of spree, not sure what came over me, but there it is. Final pen (of four) arrived today.
Left to right
Ranga Model 3: I have two Ranga pens, this one and a Model 4. Neither has the kind of vibrant ebonite colours that are advertised on their website and other locations. Anyway, it is what it is. This one was ordered with a 1.1mm Jowo stub, and I have to say that this nib is exceedingly pleasant to use, even for everyday writing. Pen is big at around 162mm capped, and 138mm uncapped (nib tip to barrel end). It will post if you want to use a 190mm pen! Workmanship is good, and it reeks of ebonite, which I like.
Franklin Christoph Model 02 in solid cinnamaroon: this was one of their recent sale pens. Currently own a 20, a 31 and a P66, so thought about trying this model. Haven't inked it yet though. Ordered with a Nagahara fine CI nib (my second) plus one of their vaunted music nibs, which is an absolute blast (currently gracing a different custom pen). Definitely recommend the music nib as an add-on if you're buying a pen from FC.
An Ambassador pen (noted a page or two back in this thread): woodgrain pattern in indeterminate material, and with a semi-flex nib. Look how small that nib is, even though it is labelled as a #8 size.
Finally, a Sheaffer flat top: no idea what this is made of. Nice big nib. Touted as a big pen, the comparison (with the Ambassador) against the FC pen is stark. Apart from a small scratch on the cap the pen is in surprisingly shiny and nice condition!
The Ranga is the only pen inked at this time, and strangely enough I don't feel inclined to ink the others, which adds them to my growing pool of untested pens. Not sure what is going on there.

Opus 88 Opera (grey dot) with a broad nib.
Received it yesterday and inked it up with iroshizuku tsuki-yo.
Whether it is the nib, the ink, or the combo, I have to say this is one of the smoothest nibs I have ever come across right out of the box with no tuning whatsoever.
FWIW - paper is HP32 which is what I use for most of my writing.
My latest aquisition is three Wearevers and one mystery combo from eBay.
The pens are in better condition than I expected, which makes them less suitable for the nib and section donor status I was toying with for them. Two are cartridge pens and I managed to get a Sheaffer cart to work with each of those two. Between the four pens they have three different kinds of nibs. The last two need sacs, so they are not working yet.
Does anyone know anything about the size sacs Wearevers take? The first time I got fired up to re-sac things I got a set of the different sizes, used them as best I could, and probably put some less than optimal sizes on some of my pens because they were there and it was something. I have a sense that this time a lot of them are going to need pretty much the same size sac, and tht there will then be another bunch that need slightly smaller sacs all together, along with the two HUGE sacs I need and a few tiny ones - this happens when you love small pens...
