I like your review of the ink.

    Your turn.

By the way, I miss your inputs for the Art gallery for quite a while.
I would love to see some new artworks from you.

I checked your review, Migo. Lovely, I could really appreciate the color even more

    Hi there Ptero,

I thought it looked like the FPR blue-black ink before you mentioned that there was a review on here. But you said the ink wasn’t particularly waterproof, and lately when I used it I found it more water-resistant than I remembered. Anyway, I thought it was worth a guess ;-)

Thank you for remembering my arty attempts. I haven’t been doing much lately as my elderly mum has been quite poorly & I’ve been travelling a lot to visit her, but hopefully I’ll be able to pick up my pencils and paints again soon :-)

I’ll post the next ink for guessing either later today or, more probably, tomorrow......

    M

Thank you, Yazeh. I’m a fan of blue-black inks; I think they're sadly often overlooked, being sometimes considered a bit boring. But they vary so much in shades, from smokey grey, to navy, to broody midnight blues. The FPR ink is really nice - and even better it’s very good value-for-money :-)

And I like the fact its cleans easily and the fact that it's water-resistant .... I spend several days cleaning R&K verdigris from a lever filler fountain-pen, recently....

My statement regarding water resistance was related to my drawing experience, as lines can be dissolved quite well brushing with water over them.
I saw your water experiment and it also is quite resistant on my finger so I modify my statement to: moderate water resistant.
Writing will remain legible even when got wet.

Looking forward to see your new artworks.

I wonder who really manufactures their ink as they claim it is produced in the US.

According to one review on their black ink page it's going to be either Noodler's or PR.

It’s none of the above, although they are all in the ballpark. The R & K is a touch lighter and leans more to yellow, Herbin is brighter & also more lime in tone. Hangzhou is closest. And the mystery ink has something in common (not writing-related) with the PenBBS ink.

It isn’t Citrus Black. It is more green in tone than that one.

The Platinum ink is on my (long) list of inks I want to try though

Colour-wise you’re very close with South Village, but my ink doesn’t have the shimmer added.

Are you guessing the Kokeiro colour for Kyo No Oto? The mystery ink isn’t that one but I do have it and it’s a very lovely colour.

Anyway, you are in the right geographical region. Head south from China & west from Japan. And another real giveaway clue - I wrote the name of the ink in my photo So you can’t not guess it now ;-)
