    Default Narwhal Nautilus

Just wondering if any folks here on the forum have any experience with these pens. They seem to have good reviews, and an ebonite, piston filler at this price point sure is tempting...

I have three of them (two ebonite, one acrylic) and like all of them a lot. All have worked perfectly out of the box, and I love the little ink 'portholes'. I have a number of other Narwhal pens, including their new vac filler, and not one of them has been a disappointment.

Same here. Supposedly the nibs are made in house, and if so, they could teach the old guard a thing or two.
    Really super pens.
I'm trying to divest myself of a lot of my collection but that new Blue Ebonite with matching trim is just beautiful.

Thanks mizgeorge. I ordered the Narwhal Nautilus Fountain Pen in Bronze Corydoras, looking forward to trying it out. If I like it, may grab a few others...

Got it. Really like the fit and finish. Medium nib is great out of the box. I didn't realize it was a polished ebonite. It looks as if the Cephalopod Black version is more of a matte finish. I have one in my cart with a fine nib, and will call the dealer in AM to find out.

Maybe silly question - is it a true piston filler like a Pelican? Or captived converter?
Sell your cleverness and buy bewilderment. Cleverness is mere opinion. Bewilderment brings intuitive knowledge.

Piston filler - with a reasonable capacity too.

This is the one I have been eyeing too, and bought today, for the reason TSherbs mentioned.

Got mine yesterday, and I'm also impressed.

@stevekolt - want to do a "joint" review?

I'll read it, whoever "pens" it.

Done, but read it at your own risk...

Was just browsing Nahvalur's other pens. Looks like the nautilus are on sale. Blue, green and "berry" (purple/red?) for $128 (reg $160).

I just bought a Bronze Corydoras from Cult Pens for 128.54 Canadian dollars (~95 USD), which seems to be their regular price. That includes any Customs charges.

    Question Re: Narwhal Nautilus

Anyone have one with one of their stub nibs and care to comment on it vs other steel stub nibs of the same size.

I have three in the Nautilus shape with stub nibs (as well as a number of other Nahvalur/Narwhal pens with stubs) and haven't had a single problem with any. Very comparable to a JoWo 1.1 in terms of line width.

All have been slightly wet writing (which suits my preference for inks that tend to be on the dry side).

It's probably more useful to just show a sample

What's that "glacier blue" ink? The Montblanc version? It's a lot more saturated than the samples/reviews I've seen.

I need another vibrant blue ink like I need another hole in my head, but...

It is the Montblanc version, and it came as a surprise to me too - this is the colour after some weeks in the pen. It's darkened down quite a lot and I like it. I'm going to do some writing samples and see if it does the same thing on paper. It's certainly a lot lighter straight from the bottle.
