I may have been eBaying while drinking last week and picked up two Parker Duofolds. I *think* these are from the late 1920's, but I'm not entirely sure. I can't wait to see them!

I got one of these. The Mother tried it and liked it, wanted one. So I showed her the options in eBay, and she chose the one with swirls and I ordered it for her. She's pretty excited about it. She'd prefer a bigger nib, i.e., M or B or BBB+, who knows, but this will do. She "skipped" away saying, "Hahaha, now I will have two fountain pens!"

Note: She has had more than two these past 30 years, cos I gave her at least some. I don't know where they went, and I'm not asking.

Note to self: never order a pen on the Saturday of a long holiday weekend. The added days waiting is torture!

This Eversharp Skyline set is in transit. Took some risk on it. Maybe it will work out. Maybe not.

A Leonardo Momento Zero Positano Blue. I am literally 30 minutes away from the post office to pick it up. It has been a long wait, bought online 26 of September.

It's a Moonman Wancai. Search eBay and you'll find quite a few Chinese vendors of the pen, anywhere from the low teens to mid-20s. Comes in a few different colors/acrylic patterns.

I'm in a brown mood: awaiting (just because it ended up this way) both a Sheaffer OS Balance in Golden Brown and a Moonman M100 in brown/black. Separated by about 90 years and a few bucks.

Wow, both of those are quite pretty!

My Skyline set should arrive today!

In a few days yet another E. Faber Permapoint will appear. It has the snakeskin celluloid pattern that I cannot resist. It has yet another crappy worn out nib. That's ok. I found some low cost nibs that fit and perform nicely. This will be Permapoint number 4.

Also on the way is an old ebonite Parker with a semi flex nib that I may try to repair.

I guess I better start selling some pens now.

Ha. I ordered that same Moonman, Jon. Nice looking material. I'm excited to see how it writes.

Geez, we should try to coordinate these activities! I *almost* got the brown/blue color but I'll see how this one is. I'm mainly getting it to see if it is recommendable as a good 'nice starter pen for others.

The brown blue was cool, but I have soft spot for tortoise shell materials. It looks like a budget Pelikan Rennaissance brown.

I'm usually not into Chinese pens, but the overall reviews of Moonman, plus the color, have persuaded me to give it a go.

That is one gorgeous pen. And the blue is even more enticing to me. Let us know how they write, folks. There may be a moonman in my future, which if there is, will be the first Chinese pen I'll have bought. So far lots of Japanese, but no Chinese. BTW, they're described as acrylic resin on eBay, but celluloid on Amazon and in some discussions on that other forum. Wonder which it is.

That's a Moonman Wancai Mini. I finally succumbed to all the glowing reviews -- after trying one at Pelikan Hub-Wrocław.

I bought mine (and the one for my mother) from jpzh11 on eBay (eBay link). Its formal name is Moonman Wancai Mini Ink Sac, haha. Anyway, seller starts the pricing at $0.99, but it's really just less than $15, with free shipping from China.

Mine arrived on the frist day of the estimated-delivery-date range. Came wuth a box of 6 std intl carts (black -- despite dark blue box) and two pipettes (which work better than expected).

When I went to fill the Mini, I realized, hey, the bottom is curved. I can't stand it up on its own. Weird. But okay. But after using it, I realized, ohhh, it's curved to facilitate posting the cap. Great design!

The nib is utilitarian -- best so far with the Kaweco Summer Purple and Noodler's Black. AWFUL with Akkermann Blue-Black. Almost as bad with Artist Line Cognac but not bad enough to change it back to black.

It's really a nifty little pen!

Given the time and expertise required to mix, cure, and manufacture celluloid, I would be astounded if it is anything other than acrylic. Not that that's a problem, the material is beautiful. The materials actually remind me of some of the frame materials being put out by Warby Parker glasses.
