That one is Boldmere from The Works so quite generic! I don't have the packaging saying what weight it is anymore, got it years ago - good for watercolour and textured but also smooth enough that nibs don't catch on it.

    Thank you.
My Strathmore is Toned Grey so I don't tend to use it for everything. I bought a white Canson pad for when I needed white paper, but those pages drop out as they are just glued at the top.
White with ring binding would be ideal.

    Hi Chrissy

I can recommend the Winsor Newton Heavy Weight Wire-O Sketch books with 170g/m2

    http://www.winsornewton.com/row/shop...h-book-6679232

They are available in sizes between A6 and A3.

The paper is bright white, smooth and acid free.
They advertise it especially for pencil, pen and ink and water colour.

I like it very much, as advertised it can handle quite a lot of water (of course it is no water color paper, it‘s only 170g/m2).
It does not tend to buckle and stays quite straight even with more water.
With it‘s smooth surface pens and pencils glide really well.

I already filled an A5 one and currently use an A4 one.
Many of my latest drawings in the Art Gallery were made on this (A4) paper (E.g. the Orcs, snake, troll, the viking ship and the bear with glasses)

Tomorrow, the 31st of October 2019 is kinda special.
No, not because of Halloween, I don't celebrate that.

But because it's the last day of Inktober 2019.

The pen is a vintage Wingsung 612 pen. From the look of it, it resembles the Hero pen that I used when I was little. So probably from the 1970's.

For today´s topic I thought about something away from the obvious fruit or vegetable things.

An embryo also ripe inside his mother, I tried to capture this.
I think the release date for a new life is almost reached in my picture.

And finally one catch up picture from my son so that he also completed all prompts.

I can´t tell you how happy he is now that Inktober is over.
He struggled with Inktober the second half of the month.
Currently he told me he will not participate next year anmyore (this was his 3rd time), but who knows....... in a year the pain most likely is forgotten again.

Sailor Ink Studio 123 and a little bleach. (I wasn't expecting the green and yellow edges! The bleach makes it go blue).

AS I start posting this post there are about 6 or 7 minutes left to Inktober. I've realized that I need to do a lot more drawing if I'm ever going to be able to draw well. Years ago I carried a sketchbook everywhere I went, and some of the drawings I produced weren't too shabby. I'm nowhere near to being back where I was, let alone making any progress from there. Use it or lose it, and I let it atrophy.

Anyway, this is a not very successful study for a historiated initial T for a calligraphy project I'm working on. Eventually, when I get get a smoother, cleaner version of the cartoon, I'll paint it in with gouache.
