No, but I really wish I was. I'm just too far west to have been hit.
Snow is work. Hard to measure how much we've gotten here because it is powdery and creates drifts. There is an official report of 30" just a few miles away.

We've had about 25 inches here. Wish I could say it was a quiet day of staying inside, warm and cozy.
Beware of oblique conclusions.
Is it bad that I'm jealous of snowmageddon? I don't think we've ever had more than 5" here, at a push. Of course the whole country comes to a standstill with 1", so 30" would be REALLY fun.
I do, of course, hope all of you that are affected by it are warm and safe.

76 degrees here today, normal is 40 degrees. Nice winter break! Ya'll be careful in the bad weather areas.

We don't know what we don't know
I lived for 30 years below 33 degrees latitude, growing up on the gulf coast of Florida and living in central and north Texas. I have to say that I prefer the climate in New England by a huge margin. Huge. Each season is distinct, and I like them all. I even like winter and cold weather. I just don't like shoveling snow. For a property owner, snow is like a boss who can't be reasoned with. It doesn't care what else you need to get done, and it doesn't give you a break just because you need one. But if I feel like complaining about the snow, I just think about the hot days I experienced in Texas. I was made for the cold, not the heat. And fresh snow is a beautiful thing to behold.

I almost feel guilty. It's 80 here right now.
I'd rather snow than 110 degree heat any day. I grew up in MI, spent 6 years in Texas and cried Uncle! We're in Seattle now though and sadly it looks like snow isn't going to be a thing here, we got one dusting early this winter and I'm told that was unusual. Ah well. I really don't like driving in the stuff, and don't miss shoveling it. But it's so pretty, I miss the photography opportunities.

Woohoo! Only 12 to 18 inches here. The wind made it difficult to snow blow it. Thursday we are predicted for more snow. I'm having serious bonding time with the snow blower this week.
I cancelled my business calls to the eastern seaboard for the week, on the assumption people would rather be at home during a potential emergency. I had moved a lot of firewood in preparation. Just in case. My larders are loaded. This storm is not going to reach me, because I am too far north, but being as I live in a winter country, it is always good to be prepared.

I have a couple of packages on their way to America and was wondering how the U.S.P.S deals with snow as Holsworth said a couple of inches of snow brings the UK to a standstill.
Most of the Northern US has no problem handling snow. We routinely got 2' of snow overnight in Michigan and it was plowed and cleared well before rush hour. Didn't slow down the USPS. This storm got lots of press because it was headed for New York City where they simply don't have places to *put* snow, making plowing (how most of just deal with it) difficult. To folks in Maine, or Northern Michigan, or Idaho a couple feet of snow is not an emergency.

Truthfully I doubt the package will be delayed more then a day total
