I noticed this old thread in the Lounge, and thought the topic deserves more attention.

The official term for a pen test is "probatio pennae" and goes back to scribes testing their dip pens on separate scraps or writing in the margins.

In addition to pangrams that contain all the letter of the Alphabet, as in the post cited above, I am always told that the word "Egypt" is a great way to test a nib.

I know about drawing in figure eights to check all edges of the nib.

I have a friend who writes quotes from Shakespeare.

I have favorite words and phrases and sketch around them.

So here is my challenge:

Feel free to post your calligraphic, hand-written, artistic, and who-knows-what-else version of your own probatio pennae, from scraps and scrappy to high fallutin' art. Do you have examples you have used, or fancy ones you would like to craft for this post? Do you have any in non-Latin scripts? Genuine fakes ones also welcome.
